On the eighth anniversary of the disappearance of Metrography Agency co-founder Kamaran Najm, the agency organized the inaugural Kamaran Awards in Sulaymaniyah on June 12, 2022. Journalist Qazi Shibili from Kashmir won a $12,000 grant to pursue a long-term reporting project and the agency highlighted the case of missing photojournalist Vladjimir Legagneur of Haiti. Large numbers of photographers, journalists, politicians, and artists attended the ceremony.
